Lansdowne

A pretty hill-station in the Pauri-Garhwal region of Uttaranchal, Lansdowne is one of the quietest hill-stations in India.

A spic-n-span town with disciplined residents, Lansdowne owes its existence to the British and was named after its founder, Lord Lansdowne.

Lansdowne is one of the least explored and least exploited hill-stations with secluded and pristine environment. Peaceful and tranquil, Lansdowne is a perfect place to meditate and rejuvenate your soul.

Tarkeshwar Mahadev (12km)

An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is one of the ‘Siddhipeethas’.

Bhim Pakoda

Its believed that during their exile, Pandavas had halted at this location and Bheema, renowned for his strength, had placed a huge rock on top of another. This big rock can be moved by a little push but its so well placed that it never falls.

St. John’s and St. Mary’s Church

While St. John’s is a Roman-Catholic Church, St. Mary’s is an Anglican Church that has been partially turned into a reading room, but it’s a must visit for its beautiful stained-glass windows and quaint aura.
