Registration/Permit for Yatra

Before commencing the yatra, one needs to get registered for the yatra.

Procedure for registration

 

Registration can be done either from the Registration Counters established in the designated post offices and Bank branches.

For getting registered and obtaining Yatra Permit, one has to provide a health certificate issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner, along with the Application form.

Online Registration/e-Yatra Permit

Following reports, that a large number of pilgrims, managed to get fake e-Yatra permit cards, it was decided by Shrine Board to discontinue the Online Registration facility for Amarnath yatra in 2013.

 

 Note:

Individuals below 13 years of age or above 75 years of age are not allowed to undertake Amarnath yatra.

 

Useful Tips

· Carry valid ID proof.

· Carry light snacks, biscuits, tinned food etc.

· Carry woollens, head umbrella, wind cheater, raincoat, sleeping bag, torch, waterproof shoes and a stick.

· Dress comfortably.

· Ensure that the ponywala or the labourer you hire, is registered and has an Identity Card.

· Carry your belongings and edibles etc. in a waterproof bag since the weather is unpredictable
