Agonda Beach

Agonda is a beautiful beach surrounded by hills and lined by lush palms and casuarinas. Located 6 km north of Palolem, in South Goa, Agonda is a little far to reach but worth every bit of it!

Ideal for those looking for a relaxed, quiet, peaceful and lazy time, Agonda beach is one of the secluded and quietest beaches of Goa. Devoid of tourists, this 3 Km long stretch of white sands is delightfully unspoilt and is cleaner and calmer of all the beaches.

With no sellers or hawkers to pest tourists, Agonda is ideal for relaxing and is correctly known as ‘Silent Beach’ as it has no nightlife at all!

The beach has nice welcoming bars and restaurants, all of which wind up around 11 pm. Agonda beach is lined by a number of beach shacks serving excellent food & drinks and has a well-equipped lifeguard station.

The beach also offers basic facilities like a Cyber café, a pharmacy, money exchange and beach huts with Wi-Fi etc. making it popular among foreign tourists.

At Agonda, one gets to witness glorious sunsets from the beach. Also, the early risers can see dolphins having a good time from the shoreline itself. For those interested in closer view, dolphin-spotting boating trips are available.

Agonda beach is one of the largest nesting sites of Olive Ridley Turtle, an endangered species. Earlier a hunting ground for sea turtles, today it is a known conservation centre.

The villagers here are very friendly & helpful and under Village administration’s guidance work hard to save the village from environmental degradation. One’s effort to minimise waste, avoid litter and save electricity and water is really appreciated by the locals.

With its magnificent beauty, clean waters and laid-back life, Agonda, though not meant for party lovers, is an ideal destination for those who simply want to relax and have a good time in beautiful surroundings.
