Popularly known as ‘Queen of the Beaches’, Calangute beach is one of the most popular, crowded and commercial beaches of Goa.

Buzzing with activity, Calangute is a beautiful beach where scores of local tourists come to have a good time. However, if one is looking for a quiet relaxing time and simply lazing in the sun, South Goa is a better option.

With Candolim to its south and the little but popular Baga to its north, Calangute is well placed on the tourist map and alongwith the two forms the heartland of Goa tourism.

Calangute has literally got everything a tourist can wish for in Goa. Discovered by hippies in 1960s, Calangute’s beauty soon attracted limelight and attention of filmmakers, actors and the high flying.

Here at Calangute one could simply relax, soak in the sun and spend endless hours appreciating the mesmerising beauty of nature.

In Calangute, along the road connecting north and south Goa, there are hundreds of shops selling everything from trinkets, handicraft items, books and travel trips to designer clothes and bags.

 

Calangute beach has a lifeguard and is considered one of the safer Goan beaches though caution while at sea is always recommended.

Calangute beach is dotted with a number of resorts, cottages & hotels and numerous shacks serving both local and continental cuisine.

Calangute beach, Goa, offers a number of adventure sports and a splendid beach experience.

Though there is not much of nightlife on this beach and most of the bars wind up by 10 pm, for those looking for late night parties, Tito’s at Baga beach is closeby and open till late in off-season and into the wee hours of morning in peak season (Dec-Jan).
